The Cookie Monster has been training hard at skills in agility, pity about her owner, who still has lots more to learn!

We were fortunate enough to be invited in November 09 to a beginners agility day, for dogs that are not competing yet to have a go at some stuff!

Here are some photos of the Monster having a go.

you can also check out her video on You Tube

Introducing agility to Cookie in Feb 09 was also a break through for her, the basic skills required in agility allow Cookie to focus more on what she is supposed to be doing, and the job she is given.  Cookie is one of those dogs, that wants to do something, anything, besides standing there.  At her first session at agility, all she did was bark, as she was so excited to be there!  Each week she goes, the excitement comes with her.

Cookie Monster and agility appear to be a good match, she is completely crazy over it!  From day one, when we were working on beginners skills, she loved it.  Moving on to working on the equipment has been an absolute laugh for the whole class i think, she is definately the clown on the class!

From being trodden on by me various times, as she is so excited she looses the plot, to launching herself at the table and skidding off many times, choking on treats, as she is such a maniac, she jumps before swallowing, to jumping off the top of the dog walk for fun, she has am absolute ball.  Even the trainers are constantly gasping at her antics, as they reckon she should have injured herself by now.  She is learning though, and these behaviours are being modified into skills she will hopefully put to good use in the agility ring in the future.
